Update on Faith of Our Fathers

Hebrews 11:1, 2, 6, 8
Faith = believe + Hope.

Our fathers possessed great faith that earned them greater reward from whom they trust. Faith must work with diligence in seeking God. Only that will earn you the reward of the God you seek. Hebrews 11:6.

HEROES OF FAITH – OUR FATHERS


Shedrach, Meshach, and Abed – Nego story is an interesting one. Daniel 3:8 – 30.
These men’s faith exalted God above all gods, men and all created things on this earth.

Summary of their faith statement
  1. We have no need to answer you in this matter. Why?
  2. Our God whom we served is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace and
  3. He will deliver us from your hand, O king.
  4. If not, we will not serve your gods nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up.
If you are threaten with painful and horrible death like this one, will you say the same words as these men did say? Has that little challenge you are experiencing now made you to bow down and worship that gold image, (gone astray from God)? Or did you say, ‘my God is able to deliver me, and you adhere to that?’

The Benefits of Faith in God
  1. God will always be there for you. Daniel 3:24
  2. No harm can ever come to you. Daniel 3:27
  3. Your enemies and oppressors will bless your God. Daniel 3:28
  4. Your enemies and adversaries will make a decree not to say anything against your God. Daniel 3:29
  5. You will be promoted when your faith is complete, (from glory to a higher glory). Daniel 3:30, James 1:1 – 4.
Conclusion
‘For our light affliction which is but for a moment, works for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.’ II Corinthians 4:17.
So, brethren, do not be discouraged or faint in time like this; knowing that our God is able to deliver you in Jesus Christ name. Amen!
